Bryan Swanson (SubmergedPhotography) As a biologist and underwater photographer of over 14 years my true love is bringing the beauty of sea life to the eyes of everyone. I have photographed reef systems all over the world and have seen first hand why marine conservation is extremely important. Overfishing and pollution from runoff are just a couple examples of human impact destroying marine ecosystems. I believe we can stop this destruction through education and bringing local governments around the world to focus on marine conservation. I hope my pictures help with educating and influencing a love for marine life. My fiancé Jen and I are traveling to the Philippines in May for our Honeymoon and can't wait for some amazing diving.

Vacations are the best time for diving. It allows you to set aside real life intrusions by the boss and the daily grind of work at home. You can head to your favorite dive destination and dive every day, maybe book a liveaboard and spend a week in a very remote location. However, at times, there may be others who you need to take into consideration when you plan your dive trip and that person might not share your passion for diving. In cases like this you will get a watered down version on your dream. Even then you have to balance your desires and those of the people with you.
The Great Barrier Reef is the top location on many diver's dive destination bucket list. The Great Barrier Reef is also where the modern dive liveaboard as we know it today matured. Innovations implemented by the Cairn's based Scuba Diving Hall of Famer Mike Ball changed the liveaboard industry, with his strategies being adopted and adapted worldwide. Even now, the dive industry sees new liveaboard concepts coming from the Cairn based liveaboards.
