When the world is surrounded by so much depressing news of bombings, refugee crises, political dysfunctions here and there, I think we can find a message of Hope & Optimism underneath our Puget Sound waters.
Here is what I wrote in description of Puget Sound King Crab:
" Despite the name "Puget Sound", Puget Sound King Crabs are very rare sightings in "Puget Sound" to be seen by divers. Most of the sightings occur in San Juan Islands and the waters of British Columbia.
My Friend Jan Kocian has been occasionally reporting them at Keystone and Possession Point Fingers Whidbey Island, also on boat dives at Sares Head.
My first photo of Puget Sound King Crab juvenile (included in this Gallery), I took in 2014, I owe to Jan Kocian. He told me to look at deeper end of Keystone Jetty and pay attention to orange Sponges and Orange Social Tunicates. Once you know what to look for the Critters will pop up like mushroom after rain.
I did 3 dives on 3/18/16 and also 3 on 3/21/16 at Skyline Marina Wall / Burrows Pass Anacortes (North West end of Fidalgo Island).
These wese an extraordinary encounters as even REEF.org Team (making surveys there) has never reported any sightings of this extraordinary critter. Please note seeing one is extraordinary event. See the pictures, I was blessed to capture 3 in a single photo !
I would have brought more pictures of King Crab couples but unfortunately on my last dive my camera refused to take any pictures. I Observed another 2 couples. In one smaller female was covered so much with barnacles that you could easily miss her.
What I see is that "Spring is in the air and water" and when the World is met with human tragedies we need Hope and "Good News" anywhere we can. That is a definitely a good news to share. It looks like many Crab Couple seem to be "holding hands" (or rather claws) and looking eachother in the eyes with Love & Hope. May be we Humans need to take some lessons from those Royals living at our doorsteps."

I posted about 100+ pictueres in the Gallery therefore there is a lot to choose from. Just pick whichever you like
I also have good pictures of Golf Ball Crabs aka Rhinoceros Crabs also "holding hands (or rather claws) and looking eachother in the eyes". I bet most of the Readers have never heard about these species.
I also have a lot of pictures of Heart Crabs. I know we already missed the Valentine.
For rainy days I have good pictures of Umbrella crabs.
