Jamie Hayes (jchayes) I am a marine biologist and enthusiast of all things oceanic. Whether snorkeling, diving, surfing, or sailing, I'm always excited to get in the water. I learned to dive in the beautiful waters of a Fijian lagoon, on Gau Island. Since then, my diving has taken me from cenotes in the Mexican Riviera Maya to the frigid waters off Rhode Island. I've found that no matter where you dive, there exists a separate and fascinating universe just under the surface.

Pocna deserves no less than 5 stars. This was my first scuba diving experience so I chose the discovery dive course. The staff here is very skilled, didactic, passionate and fun. I was started off with a 20 minute video describing the experience, instructions, safety features and physiological effects of pressure on the body. This was followed by breathing and mouthpiece practice in shallow water prior to a 30min boat ride to open water.
