My wife and I dove with Aqua Tci from March 3rd through 14th, doing ten 2 tank dives each. We highly recommend this dive operation to anyone contemplating a diving holiday in the Turks and Caicos. We would give them six stars, if Dive Advisor let us.
A typical diving day with the friendly accommodating owners, Stephanie and Bill Wallwork, starts with a hotel pick up around 7:45 am, a two tank dive at West Caicos, NW Point or Sandbore Channel, followed by a drop off at your accommodations around 2:00 pm. Conditions sometimes allow them to take divers to French Cay as well. Besides most of the typical wildlife and coral found throughout the Caribbean you will see turtles and sharks patrolling the reef walls on almost every dive and if you are fortunate, dolphins and maybe even a humpback whale. The pros and cons of diving with Aqua Tci, as we see them, are as follows:
Pros:
• Their 30’ Island Hopper boat is fast and comfortable with lots of room for divers and equipment. When the wind is blowing and the waves are up, the trip (typically about 45 minutes) back to the dock is more fun than a Disney thrill ride
• Their rental equipment includes new Sub Gear Regs and BC’s with integrated weights
• They will handle your equipment for you if you want, including changing over your tanks and washing/drying your wetsuit for the next day
• If you have trouble getting back on the boat after a dive, they will allow you to remove your BC in the water and hoist it aboard for you
• Long camera friendly dives with no need to rush plus they have a fresh water camera tank onboard
• Large box for storage of dry items
• Snacks are provided between dives including homemade banana bread
• Maximum of eight divers with one dive master
• Strong safety emphasis. For the 3 minute safety stop they hang a line, a horizontal bar and a regulator
• Easy water entry by stepping off the back of the boat. Easy water exit via two large drop down ladders located at the back of the boat
• Oversize tanks for heavy breathers as well as Nitrox are available
Cons:
• Can’t think of any (which is a first for us)
