Subway Mahdia is a CMAS/SSI dive centre in the ancient Mediterranean fortress town of Mahdia.

We are a joint-owned Tunisian and German company and our instructors speak several languages including Arabic, German, Italian, French and English. Mahdia is an enchanting and unusual town, a narrow finger of land 1.5km wide and half a kilometer across. With the azure sea in three sides, it is a short stroll through narrow whitewashed streets from one coast to the other. It is still a real community that mass tourism hasn't yet invaded.

Although small, the peninsular is rich in history, the site of sieges and battles, trade and governance since it was established as a fortress palace by the Fatamids in the 10th century. It was later a base for pirates in the 1500s until the Spanish stormed the port in 1554, and it has been a sleepy fishing community ever since.

Mahdia is located 45 minutes drive from Monastir airport and the club itself sits on the northern coast road with views out to sea. We offer introductory dives for complete beginners, night dives, wreck dives, and recreation dives. We are also offer a range of diving courses to an exacting international standard. Our own fast rib leaves daily at 9am and 2pm for a series of select dive sites around the peninsular.

The sites here are typical of the marine flora and faun of Mediterranean. The seabed has interesting rock formations, walls and caves as well as four splendid wrecks, home to large groupers and banks of sérioles (liches). We only cater for small groups as we feel this means we can give you the care and attention you deserve. However, we can also offer personal dives where you will be accompanied by your own instructor. Whether you choose small group or personal dives, our professional and friendly dive team is here to make sure that your diving safe and enjoyable.

We are passionate about diving. We want you to share this passion with us and we will work to make your time with us an unforgettably friendly and enjoyable experience. Our equipment is regularly renewed and serviced to a high standard. We are also happy to host outside instructors who wish to use our facilities to teach their own students.
