You need to look after yourself as well as keeping your diving skills in good shape. Do what we do, get regular physical check-ups and keep yourself in peak condition.
It is so very important to stay in good shape, scuba diving is relaxing however you do have to carry a lot of weight around when out of the water.
This puts a big physical strain on you. Without regular massage/stretching and sometimes expert professional intervention problems can appear.
