Additional Notes

South of the Surface Dive Shop was the creation of long time diver Joseph Fryer and his wife, Joanne.  Joe discovered the underwater world in 1988 and has been in love with the sport ever since!  He quickly decided, that he had to share this new and exciting world with others, so naturally he became a PADI Instructor.  Once he started instructing, the dream of owning a dive store was becoming more of a reality.

In May 1998, South of the Surface opened the doors in downtown Owen Sound.
