About Us

Scooba Doo - the best dive club in the Pretoria area for those with a passion for scuba diving. We are a PADI club that has been helping people enjoy the sport of scuba diving since it was founded by Braam le Roux in 2008. We are an active dive club offering our members a variety of recreational diving trips, both in-country and out-of-country, as well as many different social activities.

South Africa, Mozambique, Zanzibar and Egypt are our usual destinations, but parts beyond are never out of the question. Whether you are a new diver or a seasoned veteran, you are always welcome at Scooba Doo. Our club consists of divers of all experience levels and we enjoy a nearly equal ratio of men and women divers. We are a safety-minded dive club and we like to have fun.

Belonging to a dive club is a great way to meet a new dive buddy or just spend some quality time with fellow divers.

Objectives:
Scooba Doo is a PADI dive club open to all certified divers. Our objectives are to:

    make diving FUN!!!
    provide economical diving activities,
    encourage diving safety,
    promote marine conservation,
    sponsor social activities and to promote sport diving to the public.

Diving activities:
Scooba Doo offers its members a variety of diving opportunities designed to please the most discriminating diver from the novice to the experienced. Dives include local trips to Sodwana Bay, Aliwal Shoal & Protea Banks, Mozambique, Zanzibar and Egypt as well as more exotic locales worldwide. Each is priced to give our members the greatest possible value.

Social activities: 
Throughout the year Scooba Doo sponsors social events for the members, their family and friends. Included are beach parties, canoe trips, bike rides, pool parties, and our annual Awards Banquet. Some are free of charge, others require a small fee. All are a great way to meet other members and make new friends.

Newsletter:
Members are informed about all activities through Scooba Doo’s newsletter, which is published on a regular basis throughout the year. It contains diving schedules, a calendar of events, reports on past events, informative articles, diving news and announcements. Members also receive a membership directory of names, addresses, and phone numbers. Please note: Scooba Doo will not release this directory to non-members.

Leadership: 
All Scooba Doo diving activities are planned and supervised by certified instructors & divemasters.
