Sailing on Danube River in Belgrade

The Danube River is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga River. The river flows through ten countries including Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.

The river originates in the Black Forest of Germany and flows for 1,777 miles before emptying its water into the Black Sea. One of the most beautiful sites through which the river flows is Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia. After hearing so many positive reviews of the site, I couldn't wait to visit the site and enjoy the wonderful experience of sailing along the river. The Danube River brings in so many visitors from all over Europe to Belgrade.

I visited the site and spent a couple of days, an experience I will never forget. Planning the trip was easy, given the wide variety of travelling packages offered by the tour companies. The visitors are given the chance to select the number of days they want to spend in Belgrade, ranging from five days to a month. They also select the type of accommodation they want. I was surprised at how affordable the beautiful accommodation in Belgrade was. Upon arrival, we were treated very kindly by the staff and the tour guides.

The trip was very well organized and all we had to do was relax and enjoy the wonderful experience. We were all given the chance to select the boat in which we would sail through the river. My selection was a new boat with excellent facilities including comfortable seats, bathrooms and toilets.

The boat was also very spacious giving us the opportunity to walk around and enjoy the beautiful view offered by the river. While sailing along the Danube River, we got the chance to enjoy the delicious regional food which was prepared by experienced chefs. We were also entertained by local dancers, giving us a glimpse of the culture of the people of Serbia.

The excellent service in the boat made us feel right at home. The tour guides were very well informed, educating us along the way. At some point, we were even allowed to rent kayaks and sail along the river at a lower altitude. Kayaking along the Danube River was my most enjoyable experience in Belgrade. The organizers also planned a night cruise along the river, enabling us to enjoy the impeccable view offered by the lights along the Belgrade Bridges.

Sailing on the river at night, while enjoying the delicious food and calming music, is the most relaxing experience I have ever had. We were also informed that the tour planners were able to organize weddings and parties on the boats, giving the visitors a night to remember. We captured so many beautiful photos of the river to remind us of the beautiful time we enjoyed in Belgrade. The hotel accommodation was also incredible. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The hotel staff was very kind and willing to assist any of the visitors at any time. The food served at the hotel was very delicious.

The local people showcased their culture leaving us well informed of their way of life. The trip to Belgrade was very enjoyable and I will surely visit the place again.
