About Us
Kona Honu Divers is dedicated to providing an eco-friendly business for our guests and diving ohana. The steps we have taken to become more "green" include:
- The dive shop and compressor is powered by solar energy
- The lights in the shop are LED and CFL's
- Dive lights are LED and rechargeable
- LED glow sticks
- No plastic shopping bags
- Digital liability waivers
- We are a Manta Ray Greenlist Activity Provider
- Filtered water & compostable cups (no plastic, bottle or can waste)
- Donate to the Malama Kai Foundation to keep the moorings maintained
- Sell only reef safe sunscreen
- Inform and encourage our guests to use reef safe sunscreens
- Host regular underwater & beach clean ups
- Guests have the option to offset their carbon footprint by making a small donation to Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods
- We support Hawaii Ocean Watch.
