Samata is a wooden-hulled, Sulawesi-built schooner which focuses on the Komodo Island area, operating from Labuan Bajo so no time is spent getting to and from the national park. Samata means 'tranquility' and 'balance' in Sanskrit and the boat is well-named since it is a smooth and sturdy vessel and, at 42 metres in length, is a substantial liveaboard boat. There are a variety of trip durations operated and the schedule is open to change since, with a maximum of 8 divers, Samata is a popular private whole boat charter. So if you have a group and want to set your own itinerary then the Samata's schedule can be flexible to your needs. With 13 staff to 8 guests you will be more than well looked after and, under French ownership, both English and French are spoken on board. Soft drinks and beer are included in the price and there is a wide choice of wines as you would expect under French ownership.
