Duyung Baru is a small traditional Phinisi, 25m long and 5,6m wide. Volker Korth, nicknamed Vovo, owns this gorgeous boat. This passionate Divemaster, a German citizen, has been living in Indonesia for more than 15 years. Duyung Baru is his second boat and needless to say she has been thought of in the smallest details. Vovo, his wife Yani and their crew, welcome you on their small boat for private liveaboards. Duyung Baru sails from March to October with min.7-day trips in Komodo area, accessible to rather experienced divers. Departure is guaranteed from at least 2 divers, which means you can possibly think about a private trip just for you and your behalf. The boat, with her 3 cabins, has a maximum capacity of 6 divers. The boat’s equipment’s are basic but well thought-out; we can see that Vovo has a great experience in life at sea. Electronic sailing equipment includes a GPS, a sounder and a VHF radio system. A 6-cylinder Yanmar 150HP engine, with an 8-knot cruising speed, powers the boat. A power generator for electricity, a solar panels system and a battery ensure 12 volts for toilets, lights and hot water, even when the generator is switched off (especially at night, which guarantees quiet and silent nights). Duyung Baru is also equipped with a watermaker and 3 compressors, one of which is Nitrox. This boat operates between 7 and 9-day liveaboards, in Komodo, in and out of Labuan Bajo; a few longer trips (10 days) are only available to very experienced divers (500 dives and more).
