About Us

At Dive California we pride ourselves on offering only the finest quality scuba diving lessons, products, and San Diego diving services. Our staff are San Diego Scuba Diving Instructors and experienced Divemasters with decades of experience in military, technical, and recreational diving. We are as committed to your satisfaction as we are very passionate about our diving.

Dive California's professional staff will provide you with friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable service, ensuring that your scuba diving experience will exceed your every expectation.

Dive California was founded in 2005 as a small dive center catering to those who lived and worked by the marinas. Since then, we have steadily expanded. In 2009, we moved into our current location at 4004 Sports Arena Blvd. In addition to the on-site pool, this location has the privilege of being one of the oldest dive centers in California. Specifically built as a dive center in 1953 and the pool installed in 1963, there have been a lot of divers forged within these walls. We have often that clients who tell us stories of how they learned to swim or scuba dive at our very location. In 2016, we decided to focus our efforts on training. We closed the shop and are working to open a new location dedicated to SCUBA instruction.

As we strive to live up to our heritage and legacy, Dive California continues to look towards the future by adding more quality services to our repertoire.

  • Experience the Kelp! We arranged a 2 tank shore dive at La Jolla Cove in order to experience the kelp forest. Just one other couple in 1st tank, solo in the second. Julian, dive master, was very attentive and helpful... Reviewed 9/27/2025

  • Too many fish to count, sea lions, lobsters. Can't miss! Had two great dives led by Julian. We saw so many Garibaldi, spiny lobster, sea lions, even a few sharks. Julian was super helpful and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. I would absolutely dive... Reviewed 8/23/2025
