Levolin inhaler contains the active ingredient Salbutamol and is a fast-acting bronchodilator that works by relaxing the muscles of the airways to allow more air to pass through the lungs. This medicine should be stored below 25°C in a dry place and away from light. It is not recommended to use Levolin inhaler if you are allergic to any other substance or ingredient, are pregnant or breastfeeding your baby or have liver and kidney problems. It is also important to tell your doctor about any medicines that you are taking as there may be a risk of interaction.
The main side effects of this medicine are headache, dizziness and palpitations. However, these are not usually serious and should improve as your body gets used to the medicine. It is also not safe to take while driving or using machinery as it can cause drowsiness. It is not advisable to consume alcohol while on this medication as it can have severe side effects.
This is a rescue inhaler and should be used as soon as you notice the symptoms of an asthma attack such as coughing, wheezing or tightness in the chest. It can be used at any time of the day but should not be used more than four times per day and no more than 8 puffs in 24 hours. If you are using this inhaler more than three or four times a week then it might indicate that your asthma is not well controlled and you should speak to your doctor about it.
