Advice for diving Patong Bay - Phuket in Thailand
Patong Bay has a coral reef a short 15 minute ride by traditional longtail boat. The reef is around a max depth of 12 meters to a sandy bottom. The reef is full of marine life and recently spotted was a large frogfish, the walking fish.
The dive site is best visited between November and May each year and during the other months (low season) the sea is picked up by the changing winds so diving is not an option between June and October.
A cheap diving experience due to its close distance from the shore - perfect for Discover scuba divers and certified divers looking for a refresher dive before a liveaboard to the Similan Islands.
