Advice for diving Gili Biaha in Indonesia
Gili Biaha is called Pulau Kuan by the Balinese...
Gili Biaha is a L-shaped reef with a cave at about 12m right in the ankle of the L. Frequently white-tip reefsharks can be found inside the cave, but there are also lobsters, rock-lobsters and lanternfish. Never enter the cave if there is big swell!
The rest of Gili Biaha is beautiful walls, full of life! Turtles, octopus, nudis, millions of fish,... This being an outer reef, literally ANYTHING can pass by here. Make sure to keep at least one eye to the blue at all times!
Currents can be strong and unpredictable, down-currents may occur. Make sure to book your dives with a reliable dive centre and only go with an experienced guide!
