Advice for diving Manado in Indonesia

Site Sahaung

Located on the east coast, in front of the village of lihunu, this is a spectacular Bangka scuba diving spot among the rocks in the middle of the sea. Rows of underwater rock peaks that rise from the water to the sky add to the special features of this place. This is a drift dive that requires a negative buoyancy entry, as the waves and currents are quite strong at this point at the drop off and pick up points.

As you descend the summit, you'll marvel at the proliferation of green and golden brown soft corals, large elephant ear sponges, dense thickets of branching green cup coral and table coral. There was a carpet of frayed skin coral and soft coral trees of pink, brown, cream, and mauve swaying in the shallow waves.

At the same time, crowding around you are red-tooth triggerfish, midnight snapper, blue-striped snapper and longfin banner fish. Fish soup! If you're not blown away enough by this, the site may also include teira bat fish, pygmy seahorses, toadfish, sweetlip harlequins, palette surgery fish, and perhaps a whitefin reef shark or two to feature as guests. "Amazing" and "amazing" are words that are often used on the boat after this Bangka dive. We did this trip with the diving center from Manado, the name is Sosoro Diving Center Manado, please contact them on whatsup 08114305541

Advice on Diving in Indonesia

...October through to April as Raja Ampat sits right on the Equator and has sites both south and north of it. South Komodo sites, Nusa Penida around Bali as well as sites around Alor can have chilling 18 to 21 degrees Celsius during May to October and are generally at their coldest in July to September. Bali is Indonesia's most easily accessible and most varied diving destination. Dive sites concentrate in three areas of the island. The south of Bali offers some options to see large marine life, like the Mola Mola and Manta rays. On the east coast, you will find the USAT Liberty, probably the mo...
