ELYSIUM ARTISTS FOR THE ARCTIC is a project that combines the expertise of some of the world’s top scientists, artists, and explorers to create a multi-faceted interpretation of the Arctic. Artists for the Arctic hopes to inspire greater appreciation, understanding, and love for this critically important part of our planet, while drawing attention to the impacts of climate change. This icy ecosystem is regarded as one of the most enchanting wilderness regions of our planet, yet volatile and under severe threat from the warming of the world’s climate. This expedition promises to deliver the most awe-inspiring and stunning visual representation ever seen of the Arctic. The sights, sounds, and science captured by the Elysium Team will inspire ways to preserve and protect life at the top of the world through art, education, and outreach.

THE MISSION: The Explorer Team’s mission is to encapsulate the splendor of the Arctic through the sights and sounds of this enthralling region, into one exquisite volume, a film and exhibitions around the world in eight major cities in 2016-2017. Elysium's science team will record and study the impacts of disappearing sea ice in the Arctic, inspiring, educating, and engaging the public about the wonders of the Arctic and its importance to our global climate. Through cross-cultural dialogue and educational outreach programs, Artists for the Arctic aims to exchange knowledge with Inuit groups and Elders about their home and the animals that live there. These first-hand accounts will be broadcast through a series of exhibitions worldwide, global social networks, and media channels, inspiring conservation for the diverse life of the Arctic as well as drawing attention to the impacts of climate change, ocean change, and disappearing sea ice. With your support we will be able to spread this critical message around the globe. You can have a direct impact on the way the world sees and understands the Arctic, and consequently on how we protect this precious polar region in the near future.

THE EXPLORERS: To achieve these results we have assembled 59 of the world’s most celebrated artists, explorers, and scientists as principal team members. THE LOTTERY: We currently have 59 world-class Elysium team members, and this is your opportunity to become our 60th and final team member on this 3-week voyage to the Arctic. Elysium promises to be the most exciting, innovative, and inspirational journey of the decade, and you can be part of it with us. Each $50 contribution earns you one entry into our lottery for the last spot, along with rewards specific to your donation amount including but not limited to, the official Elysium soundtrack once it is composed, autographed proof prints from the limited edition Elysium book, and an exclusive giclee titled "Ice Bear" created by famed ocean artist Wyland specially for our fundraising purposes. This space on Elysium is worth in excess of $18,000USD and this spot could be yours for only $50USD! If you do not win the last Elysium spot, there is still a chance you could be randomly selected to take part in an all expenses paid 2016 Ocean Geographic expedition to Cuba, Gardens of the Queen (value of $3,000USD). In the case of both the Elysium and Cuba expeditions, all costs are covered with the exception of travel to and from the arrival and departure cities, airport transfers, food and drinks while not on the expedition vessel, port fees, and sanctuary fees. All money raised through the lottery will be used to purchase carbon credits in an effort to make our entire expedition carbon neutral. Raffle tickets are available until June 1st, 2015. The lottery WILL NOT RUN UNLESS we raise at least $15,000, which means that we must sell about 300 entries to reach our goal. In the event we do not reach this goal by the end of the one-month period, your credit card will still be charged the full amount of your purchase, but we will personally refund you 80% of the purchase price.
