About Us
Red Devil Scuba is named after England's infamous Manchester United soccer team, nicknamed the Red Devils.
Gary Smith started Red Devil Scuba Supplies in 1993, a few years after emigrating to Canada from Manchester, England and getting into diving himself. After struggling to find the products and services he wanted locally, he decided to open up his own shop.
Since then, we have moved from our first little shop on Grand Ave to our spacious St Clair Street location, a dive shop we are really proud of, conveniently located near other specialty stores in the big box store area of St Clair St Extension (hwy 40).
Red Devil Scuba Supplies is one of two businesses of Gary's, and in the off-season while store hours are reduced, Gary is always 100% committed to having a store with high standards and providing many scuba related activities. As a PADI qualified scuba instructor , he is committed to continuous learning, especially in terms of equipment and diver safety. He competently services what he sells, provides advice, contacts and support to the local diving community.
One of the best features of Red Devil Scuba is the social aspect of the shop. Instructors, Dive Masters, recreational and all levels of divers socialize together as equals via the shop buddying up for local and travel diving opportunities. A true supportive dive network has naturally formed and new people join it, every time a new open water class is completed. We take diving seriously, but take fun seriously too!
