Advice for diving Subic Bay in Philippines

Subic Bay Wrecks

This was one of my better diving experiences, I specifically came here for wreck diving. Subic Bay offers great penetrations such as the New York and historic sites such as the San Quentin. All the wrecks are within 15 - 25 minutes from most dive shops, I tried 2 of the 5 maybe 6 dive shop's during my visit. I was very very impressed by my second choice. I highly recommend Kent from the Arizona Dive Shop, especially their boat and crew.

Wrecks Penetrable...

New York depths 17-27m, Length 115m (This aroused my curiosity of Subic Bay) I was not disappointed.

El Capitan depths 4-22m, Length 90m (Potentially my favorite)

LST depths 26-34m, Length 90m (A brilliant site with some of the best marine life)

San Quentin is the oldest wreck in the bay, it was scuttled by the Spanish in 1898 to block one entrance into the bay. Some interesting soft corrals and macro.

Diving and hotel rates are generally competitive.

Easy to get to only 2 1/2 hours north of Manila

I'm likely to visit again...
