Advice for diving Mimpang Bali in Indonesia

Gili Mimpang is also called Batu Tiga (Three rocks) by the Balinese

Gili Mimpang offers a wide range of underwater landscapes, ranging from sloping sand buttoms over coral gardens to steep and deep walls. It is full of life in all sizes and big things may pass by here, too. During season (July - November), Oceaning Sunfish or Mola Molas are frequently seen here, visiting cleaning stations. Sharks are also quite common, if you know where to find them.

Currents can be strong here and change rather quickly. Therefore, make sure to only dive here with an experienced guide from a renown diving centre.

...ving season is year-round, however the best diving conditions appear between April to November. Due to the monsoon season, the best time to dive Bali and surrounding is April to November. For Komodo however, most boats are leaving the area already in September/October and start to move north. The Banda Sea is at its calmest in October/November and boats going to Raja Ampat need to cross it around that time.
