STRUCTURE OF THE WORK

STRUCTURE OF THE WORK

A well thought-out logical structure plays an important role in the communication of information.
Theses and other scientific texts often have a very similar structure.

A work typically consists of the following sections:

  • Title page
  • Abstract
  • Abstract (English abstract)
  • Foreword
  • Table of Contents

Abbreviations and notations

  1. Introduction
  2. Theoretical background, starting points or problem statement
  3. Research methods and data
  4. Results and discussion (possibly in different chapters)
  5. Summary or conclusions

Annexes (not mandatory)
The titles of the sections (1 to 5) in the text proper are given for illustrative purposes only, and The author is encouraged to use titles that better describe the content of the work. Figures and subchapters may be more numerous than in the example above, if necessary. A chapter may be start with a brief introduction to the topics to be covered. In this case, the introduction should be written in the same style for all chapters. In addition, the chapter may end with a short, main points
summarising the main points of the chapter. To avoid wasting your time, you can ask for the help of an essay writing service.

The above structure is best suited to reporting experimental research. If the work is of a design or literature review nature, for example, the structure and content can be may differ from the above. In this case, it is advisable to negotiate a suitable structure for the work with your supervisor at the beginning of the work. For example, many computer science
theses are design and implementation projects. In this case, Chapter 3 should be replaced by e.g. a general description of the system, Chapter 4 is a more detailed description, the results and their and Chapter 5 is a summary.
The average length of a bachelor thesis written under the new model is 18-28 pages and a thesis 55-75 pages. In the field of engineering, the licensing thesis and the doctoral thesis are
for example, 30-200 pages.

Title of the thesis

A well-crafted, succinct title that correctly defines the subject will increase interest in the content of the thesis.
further exploration of the subject matter. A Finnish-language thesis should always be given a English title on the abstract page and vice versa. The title of the work should avoid abbreviations and names of companies and products. For information retrieval purposes, the title of the work should include at least the most important keywords. Note that any quality words in the title - such as efficient, low-current, fast - must be carefully verified, for example by measurements.
A supervision agreement is drawn up with the supervisor at the start of the thesis.

The topic of the thesis and the examiners are defined in the supervision contract. The final version of the thesis does not have to be the same as the title written in the plan. However, the title of the work must be clearly within the subject area. But if you don't like designing an essay and writing it, then here's argumentative essay help. It may be easiest to choose a name only at the end, when the work is the content is written and known.

The thesis must have two examiners if it is submitted for examination in 2019 or its or after 2019. The thesis supervisor may also act as an examiner if he or she completes the University of Tampere's criteria for an examiner. At least one of the examiners must be employed by the University of Tampere. Both examiners must be at least a higher university degree. If no second examiner is appointed previously, a second examiner may be appointed when the thesis is submitted for examination.

The topic and title of the thesis will be agreed between the student and the supervisor. The supervisor will act as
as the examiner of the candidate thesis.
