How long should a resume or Cv be?

The length of your resume depends on several factors, including your experience, industry, the specific position you are applying for, the size of the applicant, and how you have progressed in your career. About 90% of applicants have a one- to two-page resume. In some cases, a resume of three or more pages is acceptable.

One page is appropriate for you if:

  • You recently graduated from school: This applies to recent high school or college graduates. Since you don’t have much work experience to refer to, your graduate resume writing services may include classwork, school projects, volunteer work, and related advanced courses or extracurricular activities. It’s hard to fill more than one page, so it’s best to stick to one.
  • Less than two years of work experience: If you have less than two years of work experience and you are applying for a position similar to your current position, keep your resume on one page. Include relevant work experience or certifications and exclude anything irrelevant.
  • It’s a career change: If you’re starting a new career path that doesn’t require previous work experience, keep your resume on one page. For example, if you’ve been a clerk for five years and are now applying for a job as a waiter, your clerk experience doesn’t matter that much. If so, please write a complete one-page resume detailing your service experience.

Consider using a two-page resume if:

  • You are or were an outstanding student: two pages are acceptable if you have relevant awards, honors, projects, or work experience that cannot fit on one page.
  • You have more than two years of professional experience: if you have worked for two years or more, your CV writing service UK may be suitable for two pages long. Seasoned professionals with years of experience may find it difficult to limit their resumes to one page, requiring two.
