A friendly person has an easy way to establish social relationships and likes to interact with others. But how to be more sociable is it something that can be practiced?

How to be more sociable? The first key we offer you is this: start small. Start with small challenges.

For example, talk to the person behind the counter who sells you bread, who brings you a package home. After doing this several times, you will see that you no longer feel that initial nervousness. It's time to increase the difficulty, for example, by asking a stranger on the street for directions.

It exposes you to the point that holds many people back: breaking the ice: stepping forward, and initiating a conversation. The intention is that this exposure ends up generating habituation.

Smile.

And the smile is a tool of nonverbal communication, a gateway to socialization, which allows others access to you, and you to others.

Let your face show surprise, astonishment or indignation. If you are a cold person, try being a much more approachable person for a while.

If you don't know what to talk about, look for common interests with each other. Shared hobbies, hobbies, topics of conversation, common passions... Don't be afraid to ask.

Find out what can connect you with the other person and start there. You will see how with a topic that you master or that interests you, it is easier to socialize (and also, you can disconnect, without realizing it, of embarrassment).

Select who you are interested in socializing with.

When it comes to being more sociable, it's not so much about talking to everyone without rhyme or reason. Therefore, select the people you are interested in interacting with.

Although the mask technique can help you to practice and free yourself from fears, the truth is that authenticity is the glue that will end up consolidating these relationships with others. There is nothing like being yourself, knowing yourself and starting to show what you are good at.

When it comes to increasing your self-confidence, this is what can help you: getting to know yourself and showing, little by little, that you have great strengths that make you unique.

When interacting with others, you don't need to be "the nicest", "the funniest" or "the most open". Free yourself from self-imposed pressures and the pursuit of perfection. You just need to be you and enjoy your interactions, let yourself go.
