Advice for diving LCT-967 in France

LCT 967 at this site, is not American lct 967 as she was in the Pacific during June till

August 1944 on the campaine to take Siapan and Guam. HMS LCT 967 could be in that area as she

was mined on June 13th with all crew lost (seven) One crew member, the wireman, Leonard Stocks,

is buried at Bayeau war cemetry, so must have been picked up after the mining or washed ashore

in that area. It would be interesting if anyone diving this site can establish what the number is.

RN records show HM LCT 967 was mined, position unknown 0n June 13th 1944. I have the crew list, my father

being one .

For cave divers in the Lot region of South Western France, the water temperatures are a steady 13 degrees C/55 degrees F year round. This requires a wet suit, or even dry suit depending on the dive. When diving along the English Channel, at least a wetsuit is recommended due to the cool waters year round. However, while diving off France's southern coast in the summer months, s...
