PADI Course Director Isabelle about the glamour of scuba diving

So here I am. From Paris to home.
I'm leaving the city of fashion, tour Eiffel, the “oh oui” and of course, glamour!
I have been here for three days as an exhibitor at the "Salon de la Plongée ".
Why was I there?
I have been a scuba diver instructor for over 14 years now. Everyday in the sea, the sun, the wind.
Probably the best job in the world! And I say probably even if I think "it's THE best job in the world", just because… of the lack of glamour… even with the Neoprene suits, that I find extremely SEXY!
When I started diving, 99% of the time I was the only girl on board, and I was not only the only girl, but most of the time, the girl in charge.
It was actually quite hard, and I developed a personality were I was not going to take shit from anyone... Or, most probably... Any man.
Anyway, times are changing. We do any and every job. We are the generation of the "super woman"; the one that has a job, kids, remembers the favourite beer of her husband, goes to the gym, runs the house, manages to go out and look gorgeous, feminine, elegant.
So, is anyone can explain to me what is happening in the scuba diving tribe?
Here we are. An amazing group of women, fit, sun tanned, that love adventure, travel, talk to strangers, independent, wear very tight suits .... Do I carry on, or you get the pictures? And I'm walking on the hallways of the show... And I see so little of them....that look like a woman and is proud!
True, we spit in our masks to don't have fog, we burp sometimes when we play to be upside down underwater, we will never do a manicure.... But we are still beautiful!
We have the best legs for shorts, a nice skin and "Californian hairs " (some women pay a lot of money for that!).
So why not use it?
Why dressing like a man makes you comfortable in a man world?
Why thinking that after a day of work, you are not allowed to dress and look pretty?
Why?

idcocean2+logo[1]The reason why I say that, is because 90% of the people that talked to me at the dive show were males. 90%!!!!

They wanted to become dive instructors and live the dream!

What about us girls? Don't you want to live the dream? Don't you want to explore, travel and teach people your amazing passion? I'm sure you do.
You don't have to be a man to do this job. You don't need to leave a side a nice dress our height heals.
You can actually have it all!

The dream, the sea, the shoes and the glamour!
Every time a girl come to ask me some questions about diving, something lights up for me. Is the moment to teach her "you can be the gorgeous woman you are with a pair of fins ".

I’m a diver, true, its part of my DNA, but to be a woman, is the biggest part.
I want pink dive gear, and suits that fit our bodies with the boob shape and our fantastic hips. I want to show that you can be exactly who you are and fit exactly where you want to fit keeping all this things that your parents created. I love to have a classroom full of women that want to follow their dream, and teach diving all around the world.

I want you to be a scuba diver and believe that glamour is there.

I want to make “La plongée glamour”.
